I’ve been a PC gamer since I was lucky enough to have my own PC back in 1993, which I got to “build”. With an 80MHz Cyrix 486 and dual 5.25” floppy drives (no HDD) - it wasn’t much, but it was mine! At only 6 years of age, I was already playing first-person shooters such as Doom and Wolfenstein along with many other popular older DOS titles such as Prince of Persia, Oregon Trail, Indy Car Racing, and of course Zork!
However, my interests don’t stop at just playing PC games, I enjoy building and repairing computers from all eras. I especially have an affinity for older computers from the Dos 3.1 and Windows 95/98 days and enjoy bringing them back to life to enjoy once again. Networking and servers are my other love affair which keep me plenty busy with fixing as I managed to completely overcomplicate my home setup. My whole home is networked with Unifi starting the UDM-Pro and complimented with Unifi switches and access points.

My initials - J R - and “Kombi” is short for the German word kombiwagon, which translated means “station wagon” or “people carrier.” Ever since I could remember, I’ve loved cars! Out of all the cars in the world, the ones I love the most have always been station wagons. I don’t exactly know why as my family never even own one, but I purchased my kombiwagon back in 2004 which I’ve since completed two full restorations on. Because of my love of cars, I’ve spent most of my life as an Automotive Diagnostic Technician which is my full-time career.
